Apple has long paid cash rewards not only to application developers, but also to site and service owners who place links to applications in the App Store and iTunes. When a visitor navigates through a link to an application, movie, book and other digital content, the service partner within the iTunes Affiliate program receives a certain percentage of each payment actually made by the user. Until the end of April, the percentage of any transaction was 7%, which brought many sites a good income. However, on May 1, Apple sharply reduced payments, provoking a wave of resentment from partners around the world.

First, Apple decided to limit payments for the purchase of applications and in-game payments from 7% to 2.5%, that is, immediately by 64%. However, a week later, a clarification was posted on the program page, according to which the company reduces interest on only one item - in-game and intra-program payments, while payments for switching to links to applications will remain the same. It is interesting that the original version of the conditions change was quite specific and could not cause discrepancies, but Apple insists that the participants in the program iTunes Affiliate simply misread the information. Thus, starting from May 1, the amount of payments for different types of content will be:.

- Apps for iOS, tvOS, music, movies, books: 7%;.

-purchasing in iOS applications: 2.5%;.

-applications for Mac: 7%;.

-purchasing inside applications for Mac: 7%.

It is reported that application developers will continue to receive 70% of the profits from the sale of their applications.
