The syndrome of chronic fatigue is as mysterious as the common disease, the causes of which are still unknown. Perhaps a new study of a group of Norwegian scientists will help shed light on the nature of this disease. The doctors hypothesized that the syndrome of chronic fatigue is an autoimmune disease, that is, in fact it is the result of an incorrect work of human immunity.

It was found that drugs used to stimulate and consolidate the work of the immune system, in an incomprehensible way also positively affect the dynamics of the development of chronic fatigue syndrome.

For the first time this discovery was made back in 2004, but only now scientists decided to test it in practice. They divided the patients into two control groups. The first group within a certain period received immunostimulating drugs, while in the second group the doctor temporarily started the disease on its own. At the end of the control period, it turned out that the symptom of chronic fatigue in the first group receded in 67% of cases. In the second group, a similar figure was only 13%. In this case, a significant part of the patients, in the following time, could completely get rid of the chronic fatigue syndrome, and by all signs in the near future the recession of the disease is not expected in them.

Based on the results obtained, the scientists hypothesized that the syndrome of chronic fatigue provokes the malfunctioning of B lymphocytes, which for an unexplained reason begin to attack the cells of the organism itself, perceiving them as a threat, thereby causing various negative consequences in the human body. The drugs used in this case destroyed dangerous cells of lymphocytes, bringing to the state of patients the relief of symptoms. However, in some cases, after finishing the course of taking the drug, dangerous lymphocytes started to be made again, so scientists are not yet rushing to talk about a breakthrough in terms of treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome - rather, their discovery is the first step to such a breakthrough.
