The State Aviation Service of Ukraine imposed restrictions on flight operations over Kiev from May 4 to 14, 2017.
According to the State Enterprise for Air Traffic Services of Ukraine, flights are limited within a radius of 15 km from the International Exhibition Center in Kiev to a height of 1.5 km.
This restriction does not apply to regular and charter flights both transit and carried out to the airports "Borispol" and "Kiev" (Zhulyany). Also, the restriction does not apply to flights for the purpose of providing medical assistance, rescue and necessary to ensure the holding of Eurovision (in the presence of permits of the General Staff and the State Aviation Service). In this case, all aircraft must be equipped with a secondary radar transponder and radio communication facilities, the pilot dispatcher.
The decision was made with a view to preventing illegal actions in the use of airspace.
