Fitbit is one of the last companies whose device turned out to be explosive. In late April, it became known about the incident in Wisconsin, USA: a woman on her wrist unexpectedly flashed fitness tracker Fitbit Flex, as a result of which she received second degree burns. Reports have raised fears that Fitbit bracelets may suffer from the same problem as the ill-fated Note 7 smartphones that Samsung was forced to recall from the market due to defective batteries.

After the victim Dina Mitchell (Dina Mitchell) informed about the incident Fitbit, the company promised to thoroughly understand everything and find out the causes of the incident. A few days later, the manufacturer of fitness trackers issued a statement in which he claims that his device is not to blame for what happened.

"We were very concerned about Ms. Mitchell's message and quickly took action to sort out the situation," Fitbit said in a statement, which quotes Softpedia News. - Based on the results of the preliminary investigation, during which Ms. Mitchell's device was tested by a leading independent analytical firm, we concluded that there was no breakdown in the bracelet. Testing shows that damage to the device was caused by external factors ".

Which factors, in Fitbit did not specify. The American manufacturer only once again stressed that this is the first such case, which became known to Fitbit, and that the company's fitness trackers are safe for users.
