May 9, the popular Ukrainian singer Vitaly Kozlovsky will sing in the concert of the Inter Channel "Victory". One at all "and will remember his beloved grandmother. On the eve of the holiday, the artist in an exclusive interview with the TV site. UA spoke about his attitude to the holiday and talking with his grandmother about the war.
Vitaly, you take part in the concert of "Inter" by May 9. How do you feel about this holiday?.
The attitude to this holiday is very respectful. For me, this can not be a priori controversial topic, because it is a holiday of my relatives, which, unfortunately, already is not present.
On this holiday, I recall my childhood and conversations with my grandmother (she was a child of war). It was she who told me everything about the war, for three or four hours these conversations could last, and I listened to her relentlessly, so it was excitingly interesting. You understand that this is not a plot of the film, but a real life.
And I imagined everything she was talking about, painted all these terrible pictures before my eyes ... Grandmother May 9 has always been a big holiday. Therefore, I gave her flowers not only on March 8, birthday, but also on May 9. And when they say today that this is not a holiday ... Perhaps many people do not know what it is. But for those who remember that war itself, was a child of war, passed it or knows from the stories of loved ones, this is an important day. On the set of the concert in the hall I saw these people, front-line soldiers, saw sorrow in their eyes and tears of joy ... I can not ignore this holiday.
You said that you know a lot about the war from the stories of my grandmother. What was the most touched of what he heard?.
Then the famine was. In a family - six or seven children. Grandmother - the youngest, she was three or four years old. Father went to work, and every day brought a piece of bread. And so my mother fed the children, gave them a small piece of bread, the main piece left for her father, so that he had the strength to go to work.
It was spring, and spring in the war is the most terrible and hungry time. Grandma was so hungry and still small, did not understand what she was doing ... In general, she went, found this piece and ate. Mom saw that there was no bread, only when my father returned. They rushed - who ate? She says: "I". Then no one scolded her, did not punish her, but she remembered as a lesson.
Every conversation ended with saying: "I wish you all the best. But what I do not want you to do is find out what war is ". She died in 2013, before the events in Ukraine.
And grandfathers? Usually, after all, do grandfathers talk more about the war?.
I did not find grandfathers alive.
Do you have any family traditions celebrating May 9?.
No, they never were. We did not go to the parade, but we always watched it on TV. This year I will celebrate it on "Inter", I will have an interesting room with a theater of shadows, a wonderful production of Elena Kolyadenko.
See the concert "Victory". One at All "on the Inter Channel on Tuesday, May 9, at 20:30.
