Ukrainian lightweight Ivan Redkach (20-3-1, 16 KOs) lost to the former IBF world champion Dominican Arhenis Mendes (24-5-1, 12 KOs).
The fight was more actively started by Redkach, but in the third round he was removed from the point for striking the back of the head. After that, the Ukrainian twice sent Mendes to a knockdown, but the judge never opened an account, believing that the Dominican fell because he slipped.
At the end of the fight, Mendez seized the initiative and created himself an advantage in the judges' notes. Redkach lost the split decision (95:94, 94:95, 93:96). This is the third defeat of the Ukrainian in his career.
Recall that his previous fight Redak held January 28 against Demok Brok and won by technical knockout in the eighth round.
Earlier, Anthony Joshua defeated Wladimir Klitschko by TKO.
