Parthenopes do not want to let midfielder Dris Mertens go to another club, planning to renew his contract with him.

Mertens had the opportunity to pursue a career in Foggy Albion, but the proposal of the Hammers in the amount of 30 million euros was rejected - this was reported by journalist Raffaele Oryhemma on the radio CRC.

According to Raffaele, Napoli sees in Mertens an important player who in the future will play one of the key roles in the still under construction team. In addition, the player did not want to leave Italy because of his wife, who persuaded him not to move to another country.

It is reported that soon Dris will sign a new contract with Parthenopei. According to his conditions, the Belgian will earn 4 million euros per year, and his buy-out clause will be available only to foreign clubs and amount to 25 million euros.

This season on the account of Mertens 22 goals and 9 assists in 31 Serie A games.
