Interview of US President Donald Trump to some American newspapers showed that his position on the issue of North Korea has changed. The head of the White House has changed his mind to go on further aggravation with the DPRK and agrees to hold talks with the leader of this country Kim Jong-in. I changed my anger to mercy.

Only here is the ex-head of the State Department Madeleine Albright, in 2000. Meeting in Pyongyang with Kim Jong-il, intends to dissuade the US president from this step. She stated this on Tuesday, May 2, on the air of CNN.

According to her, to build a personal relationship between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un "perhaps, perhaps in business, but this is nonsense for the US president".

It should be noted that Trump changed his view of the regime in North Korea several times. After the victory in the elections, his statements became noticeably tougher, and at the beginning of May he seemed to backtrack, expressing readiness for an interview with the leader of the DPRK, writes RT.

In particular, one of the TV channels, the head of the White House said that he "does not like to draw the red lines," and he "is not like President Obama," meaning the predecessor's promises to strike at the troops of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

And during another conversation with reporters the head of the White House admitted that he would meet with the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un, "if it is appropriate".

There was a Donald Trump and an interview in which he praised Kim Jong-un for his resourcefulness and called him "the clever guy". However, he made it clear that there will not be any warming in relations with the DPRK because of its continuing nuclear missile program.

And all of Trump's diplomatic efforts were backed up by military measures. In particular, the US missile defense system THAAD, despite protests from Beijing, on May 2, took up combat duty.

Back in early April, Trump said that he could "deal with Pyongyang". Later a message appeared that the US National Security Council had passed several options for the North Korean crisis solution to the president, and even related to the use of the army. A whole month in the world waited for the outcome of the confrontation between Washington and Pyongyang.

At the same time, Trump has repeatedly noted that his plans for North Korea will not be revealed. He hopes that "everything will be fine, that there will be peace".

And the reluctance of the head of the White House to call a clear position on the DPRK causes experts to doubt that he has a certain strategy on this issue and he understands the essence of the Korean crisis.

Americanist Timur Nelin explained the inconsistency of Trump quite pragmatic considerations. The US president is far from being an amateur, and, arranging intentional provocations, he carefully thinks through every step, the political scientist.

In his opinion, "Trump uses a standard political device called" stick and carrot, "that is, he provokes opponents and exacerbates the situation to the extreme, and then, as if unexpectedly, talks about readiness for a compromise".

A professor at the Higher School of Economics Alexander Domrin, on the contrary, believes that the head of the White House behaves "absolutely inconsistently," and not only with regard to North Korea.
