Ukraine in May increased the daily volume of gas injection into underground storage facilities to 41 million cubic meters. The import of fuel from the European Union has appreciably increased to 35.3 million cubic meters per day. This is stated in the statement of the press secretary of "Ukrtransgaz" Maxim Belyavsky.
As explained by Belyavsky, the bid for gas imports from Slovakia doubled. At present, the daily volume of fuel supplies from this country is 32.5 million cubic meters. In April, the EU supplied 22.3 million cubic meters of fuel per day, resulting in gas reserves in the underground storage of Ukraine reached 8.27 billion cubic meters.
In April this year, "Ukrtransgaz" for the first time purchased fuel through the electronic trading system Prozorro. Seven suppliers participated in the auction. The winners of the bidding were Naftogaz Ukrainy, Eru Trading, Trafigura Ukraine, Gazotorgovaya Company and Esko-Pivnich.
Under the terms of the contract, the gas should be delivered between April and December 2017. In early autumn, Ukrtransgaz intends to conduct the next purchase of fuel in a competitive market, indicated in the message.
