Cancer is a genetic disease. Most cancer cases occur as a result of tissue damage that leads to tumor development (carcinogenesis). On the other hand, a significant contribution to the onset of cancer tumors is made by the hereditary factor.

Predisposing to cancer mutations affect the sex cells, which leads to transmission predisposition to cancer from generation to generation. It is this mechanism of transmission that is inherent in cancer of the rectum and large intestine. It was found that cancer-causing mutations are widespread in patients with intestinal cancer. Detection of mutation vectors is important for the timely implementation of measures for the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer.

Scientists, however, believe that despite the family history of colon cancer, the risk of the disease depends significantly on the effects of a number of exogenous factors.
