Meeting of Russian and US presidents may be a meeting of ultimatums, not bargaining.

This opinion was expressed to the "Observer" by the Russian publicist, analyst, blogger Vladimir Golyshev.

Answering the question, what issues can be discussed during the meeting between Putin and Trump, he said: "It should be noted that Russia does not need America. No need for anything. Perhaps it is needed in a single section - in helping to overthrow Assad, who is already declared the main enemy of the people. His overthrow became the course of the American administration. Moscow will be forced to have Assad surrendered. Perhaps, Moscow will consider technical assistance in solving the North Korean problem ".

"But the subject of bargaining can not be either Ukrainian politics, or the lifting of sanctions. At best - some easing or, for example, not the introduction of new sanctions. It's even faster, "- noted Golyshev.

He drew attention to two important points. The first is that "Trump has long ago not defined America's policy. He did not define it from the very beginning, but now it's funny to say that Trump's will mean something. Secondly, "the course of the US administration is the course of the Republican Party. This means talking exclusively from a position of strength, ultimatum demands. Trump will play the role of political actor ".

The publicist is convinced that there is nothing left for Moscow but to capitulate on Syria. "The question is only in the sauce under which this capitulation will be submitted".

Answering the question of the "Observer", whether the Ukrainian question will sound during the meeting, Golyshev said: "America has no interest in this direction. For the Republicans this is another reason for ultimatums and pressure on Moscow. In addition, it is a question of Europe. Why should the US solve issues that are not directly related to them? They have many other interesting theaters of military operations ".

"Ukraine stands perfectly on its own two legs, and to say that it can serve as a bargaining chip in someone's calculations is simply absurd," he stressed..

As the "Observer" wrote, according to Kommersant, the first meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, may take place at the end of May in Europe. Later, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov denied this message.
