Supersonic all-weather interceptor fighter was developed in the 1970s in the USSR. Then it was a car far ahead of its time. In 2016, the modernization and repair of MiGs began. The modern control system will increase the target detection range up to 320 kilometers, the range of attack is up to 280 kilometers. They are able to accompany ten goals, and to hit simultaneously - six. Aircraft are designed to destroy targets in border areas. In April, two MiGs practiced interception of conventional cruise missiles in the stratosphere. For this they climbed to a height of 15 kilometers, their speed was more than 2.5 thousand kilometers per hour. MiG-31 fighters, equipped with a powerful radar complex, are the main means of defense in relatively poorly equipped areas of the Russian air border, such as, for example, the Arctic.
