At the same time, the most likely candidate for the second round is the independent candidate Emmanuel Macron and the leader of the nationalist party, the National Front Marin Le Pen. In turn, she is an opponent of European integration and a supporter of the policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In addition, the four most popular candidates also include a representative of the center-right party Republicans Francois Fillon and leader of the extreme left, Jean-Luc Melachon.

Let's add that 50 thousand policemen and 7 thousand soldiers were involved in providing security during the voting.
