Researchers at NASA received a snapshot of the "pulsation" of a supermassive black hole located in the center of the galaxy NGC 4696 from the constellation Centaurus, according to the agency's website.

The new data obtained with the help of the Chandra Observatory allowed new information about a black hole located 145 million light-years from the Earth. Despite the fact that it is impossible to consider the black hole itself, the researchers have studied the effect it has on the galaxy in which it is located and on the cluster where this galaxy enters.

As the researchers note, this black hole resembles a beating heart that pumps blood through the body through the arteries. Similarly, a black hole can transport matter and energy both within the galaxy and beyond its boundaries.

Previously, NASA presented a video of the destruction of the star by a black hole. The video shows the moment of the so-called "tidal destruction", which is located in the center of the galaxy, located at a distance of 290 million light years from Earth.
