Our compatriots sang the hymns of Canada and the US, thus giving the start to the NHL championship match between Winnipeg Jets and Minnesota Wild, according to the Observer.

The meeting was held in Winnipeg in the MTS Center, which accommodates more than 16 thousand spectators. The Ukrainian choir performed both a cappella singing and enraptured the entire arena. Hockey fans gave our team a standing ovation, and some fans even brought to tears.

Note that the "Gusli" choir was organized in 1969 by Vladimir Zulyak and graduates of St. Vladimir College (Roblin, Manitoba, Canada). The choir sang mainly during the Holy Liturgy in the Ukrainian Catholic parishes in Winnipeg and Manitoba. In 1975, the dance group joined the choir and the choir group "Gusli" (the "Gusli" group) was formed..
