Column participants laying flowers formed of several parts. Ahead followed veterans, as well as representatives of the authorities and young people with Ukrainian flags.
At the end of the column were people with red flags and with banners and portraits of the Victory of those who participated in World War II. Some of the citizens were St. George's ribbons, ribbons were attached including the portraits of war veterans. This part was the deputy of Kharkiv City Council Andrei Lesik showing pro-Russian stance. First there was a fight between pro-Ukrainian youth and Lesik. Other part of the column, going to the Memorial, began chanting "Fascism will not pass". Between these people and patriotic young people a fight started.
