As reported on the website of the channel, C. Olifira said that searches are conducted in criminal proceedings on "illegal decisions on installments of payments on rental for use of mineral wealth for companies involved in the so-called gas scheme Onishchenko, totaling 2.019 billion USD".

As reported, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) on June 22, 2016 exposed the organizers of the scheme for the theft of funds in the extraction and sale of natural gas in the framework of agreements on joint activities with PJSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannya", as a result of which the state suffered damage of about 3 Billion UAH.

The Verkhovna Rada of July 5 agreed to bring to criminal responsibility the detention and arrest of MP Alexander Onishchenko, the main person involved in the "gas" scheme.

On July 27, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko signed a notification of suspicion A. Onishchenko. Meanwhile, before that, he, having used his deputy immunity, left Ukraine.

Onishchenko July 29 said that he is in London, draws up a residence permit and asks for political asylum from the British authorities.

On August 2, he did not appear at the first interrogation.

The NABU explained that if the suspect fails to appear again, the procedure for declaring him to be wanted will be launched. "If he does not come back for an interrogation, we will go to court with a request for compulsory delivery to the court and the election of preventive measures," said the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Nazar Kholodnitsky.
