The European Central Bank (ECB) July 5 presented in its headquarters in Frankfurt a new banknote of 50 euros. The denomination of the series "Europe", which presented the ECB board member Yves Mersch, will be better protected against counterfeiting. It is planned to put into circulation on April 4, 2017.

50 euros is the use of the euro banknotes.

Currently in circulation is more than 8 billion of these notes, it is about 45% of the total number of banknotes.

Since 2013, the ECB has already replaced the banknotes of 5, 10 and 20 euros. In the coming years also will be new banknotes in denominations of 100 and 200 euros. It is expected that they will be put into circulation at the end of 2018. At the same time, a 500 Euro banknote previously decided to withdraw from the market, since it is often used in criminal schemes. This Deutsche Welle reports.
