In Serbia, the two suspects were detained of complicity in the plot in Montenegro

Interior Minister of Serbia announced the arrest of two people on suspicion of involvement in an attempted coup in Montenegro. The Minister confirmed that we are talking about Bodzhicheviche Predrag Ristic and Nemanja, who, according to the investigation, trying to overthrow the government of Montenegro after receiving it in December 2015 an invitation to join NATO.



The Montenegrin authorities earlier urged Serbia to arrest and hand over Podgorica two detainees - to bring them to justice for involvement in an attempt to overthrow the government in October 2016.

Nemanja Ristic became widely known after the publication at the end of last year pictures on which he is standing next to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during one of the top Russian diplomat's visit to Belgrade.

Earlier, the chief prosecutor of Montenegro has named two Russian citizens - Vladimir Popov and Edward Shirokov - suspects in the attempted coup in Podgorica. It is reported by "Radio Liberty".
